Anthems

Here are a few songs along the 10 years’ since The Voice was broadcast. Some of us have a strange feeling that Mr McCrorie might just be spending a wee bit more time in music studios when he is ready. A new album perhaps? Some of us hope so. Some of us will move Heaven and Earth to help make an album possible. But only when the Fiery Fae Alloa is ready.

For now, Stevie has his priorities perfectly balanced…

Family + Fire Service + A Passion Writing & Singing Music That Folk Enjoy = A Happy Life.

Until the Fiery Fae Alloa is ready to compose music and sing more, and for those of us who know what we like to hear in music, here are just a few clips of what, by any measure, can be described in modern terms as “music anthems.”

These last two for songs are well worth being considered for a new album (one is a cover, the other is a Stevie special) But all in good time. Wee Lifty has to be ready as Big Lifty (here) will likely likely land a bunch of fives in yer puss if you disturb the family dynamic of his kid brother.

The first is written by the incredibly talented Noah Kahan. Sorry, Noah, it sounds like Stevie has the edge on you with Stick Season…

Stevie’s own music… his composition of this, and the video produced with that song have “Number 1 Musical Hit” and “Award Winner” written all over it. Just pure brilliant…

Excellent Songs From One of Scotland’s Finest Musicians

What Really Matters?

In 2016, a less-than-accurate – cynical, jaded journalist, wrote words to the effect: “The music career was ended” when Firefighter McCrorie reported back for duty at his Fire Station. The journalist seemed to think Stevie would stop singing. In Scotland, there is a phrase for that sort of assumption…

“Aye Right.”

(Translation for the Amadan journalist: here).

In fact, the man who did not put a foot wrong on THAT television program; the man who sang his heart out; the man who lifted a nation in 2015; that was just wanting to look after his family first. He wanted to be a decent Husband and a good Dad. Stevie McCrorie made a wise choice and did just that…

Stevie put family first, firefighting next and music as the third part of an awesome triumvirate.

He is seeing his family grow and spending quality time with them. Amy and the girls, plus wee Wolfy are Stevie’s North Star…

All of this goes to prove… “Ye cannae keep a good man down.”

Throughout the terrible pandemic, there was Stevie McCrorie with the morale-boosting “Hoose Gigs” ~ keeping folks’ spirits up.

All whilst putting in what must be close to 11 to 12 years’ fire service by now (this page is being written in June 2025).

The journalist was wrong. The family man who fights fires, still writes music. Even when he does a cover, the quality of voice and music, hands the original artist respect in the way each iconic song is sung.

Plus a wee secret: 10 years after all that television daftness has become an interesting memory, Stevie McCrorie is still a family man+ a dedicated firefighter + a very talented musician.

Sad for the “journalist” she could have actually asked the man himself and written a far more accurate article.
