Half of the website Administrator’s family are or were firefighters. Possibly more relevant is this site’s current Admin’s day-job at another place (where three registered charities were born), may be able to provide a solution that will STOP closures of fire stations and bring about a new protocol of community ownership under the Land Reform (Scotland) Act., and the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act.

The matter of community buyout of buildings and land (in principle and precedent) has already been heard on APPEAL in front of Sheriff Niven Smith at Dundee Sheriff Court early in 2025. The Sheriff (Scottish judge) found in favour of the COMMUNITY.

This is important as it provides a “safety mechanism” to HALT or STOP the sale of fire stations if HARM is being done to a local community.
